'BEAT THE ODDS'
WSCC Series 2021
15 October 2021 – Still adhering to the new norms and SOP to prevent COVID19, the World Sustainable Construction Conference (WSCC) Series 2021 which was previously known as the National Conference on Wind and Earthquake Engineering (NCWE) has been uplifted to greater heights with world-renowned speakers and new collaborators.
Using the previous name, this would be FTKA and JKA fifth conference. BEAT THE ODDS is what we have been doing ever since the first conference in 2017. Streaming live via zoom for two days, this conference has attracted more than 100 researchers all around the globe to participate and share their findings and to name a few they are from China, Nigeria, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
Associate Professor Dr. Mohamad Idris Ali, the Chairman stated that the previous conferences consist of three mini conferences that were co-organized with national and international partners which are Universiti Sains Malaysia, Chongqing University China, Beijing Jiaotong China and Universitas Syiah Kuala and this year a symposium on water has been added and was co-organized with Arba Minch University, Ethiopia. He also hopes that the WSCC Series 2022, next year will attract more researchers.

Over the last few years, the importance of sustainability has been critically highlighted as it is important for the preservation and sustainability of our earth as well as the health of our future generations. The concept of sustainability expands to all areas of human activity, including construction engineering. Construction engineering is a complex discipline that involves designing, planning, construction and management of infrastructures. The application of elements of sustainability in any construction (engineering) activity increases the overall level of construction sustainability.
