Held at the Hyatt Regency Kuantan with the theme  “Wind Related Disaster and Risk Reduction”, this conference has successfully brought together wind engineering experts from six countries who are Professor Dr. Yukio Tamura from Tokyo Polytechnic University, Japan, Professor Dr. Shuyang Cao from Tongji University, China, Professor Dr. R. Flay from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, Professor Dr. Theodore Stathopoulos of Concordia University, Canada, Professor Dr. Micheal Schatzmann from the University of Hamburg, Germany and Professor Dr. R. Yoshie from Tokyo Polytechnic University, Japan. While experts from Malaysia were represented by Professor Dr. Elias Salleh from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Associate Professor Dr. Taksiah Majid from Universiti Sains Malaysia and Professor Dr. Mazlan Hashim from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. This conference specifically discusses the wind engineering for the mitigation of wind disasters on the effects of buildings, home ventilation and air pollution.
